The CMF states that registration in its Registro de Agentes de Valores is indispensable for entities that operate as securities agents in Chile.
Before investing, the CMF recommends checking whether the relevant company is registered or supervised in Chile; the CMF regularly warns about entities that are not registered or authorised to provide regulated services.
Local intermediary supervision does not mean every underlying security is supervised by the CMF. XTB Chile states that the foreign securities it offers trade on foreign exchanges and are subject to the issuer-country legal framework rather than CMF supervision.
A foreign broker's account-opening page can prove broker-side acceptance of Chile residents, but it does not by itself prove a Chile-local licence or local promotional permission. ForexBrokersInfo therefore suppresses generic Open Account CTAs where that local basis is unresolved.
